Well, an inpatient rehab treatment is probably closer to what most people know as simply "rehab." These are full-time treatment facilities in which people live on a campus of sorts for the entirety of their treatment. This is an effective model for those whose addiction is severe and for whom self-control is a serious problem. They forcibly remove temptation by simply putting you in an environment free of any substances to abuse.
But that sort of model isn't appropriate for everyone. Inpatient rehab involves a complete removal of yourself from your everyday life - including your home, job, and family. There are a large number of people who need treatment, but simply can't sacrifice their personal or professional lives for months at a time to get it.
Outpatient rehab is a form of rehab that delivers that same behavioral therapy and holistic treatment that makes inpatient therapy successful, but then at the end of your treatment, you get to go home and resume your normal life. It is a form of rehab frequently used to "step down" from a more intensive inpatient program, or for people whose addiction isn't quite as severe.
Outpatient rehab can be more taxing on a patient's self-control, but that's why one of the most important parts of treatment is cognitive-behavioral therapy, which helps you recognize and cope with with the situations that cause you to use.
Evergreen's treatment is intensive at first, where patients attend multiple intensive outpatient (IOP) sessions each week. These sessions are generally scheduled in the evenings, to accommodate the typical work schedule. Afterwards, patients transition to regular outpatient treatment, which meets less often and for fewer hours per week. Find out more about what IOP treatment is about here.
We deal with addiction on a number of levels, and believe that treating root causes of addiction is as important as treating the symptoms. Our treatment plan isn't just about forcing you to quit. It's about helping you realize you don't need to use anymore, giving you skills and strategies to avoid addiction in the future, and giving you new horizons to look forward to once you've put your substance abuse behind you.
It's fairly common for people to assume that their addiction is "different" from other addictions. And you know what? That's absolutely true. Your addiction is different from everyone else's. Nobody has been through exactly the same thing as you, nobody has seen what you have seen.
However, the mistake you might make here is assuming that means you're alone.
You're not alone, and you're certainly not un-treatable.
You're different from everyone else, and your addiction is different from anyone else's. You're an individual in every sense of the word. So all that means is that we need to get to know you so that your treatment plan can also be different from everyone else.
At Evergreen Recovery, we help people with all kinds of addictions, from alcohol to pot to meth to heroin to oxycontin. And while there certain are some shared effects and symptoms of similar addictions, that doesn't mean your treatment comes from a cookie-cutter. We're not treating symptoms, we're treating you. We have the knowledge to know how to treat your addiction, and the compassion to understand you are more than just a substance abuser.
We take all forms of addiction very seriously. We know how powerful it can be, and it's our goal to provide you with the help you need, whether that's professional alcohol rehab or an intensive drug rehab program to help you overcome a heroin addiction. We are here for you.
Yes, addiction treatment works. That's the short answer. The longer answer is more complicated.
We're going to be honest with you: What you get our of rehab is mostly equal to what you put into it. While addiction is a disease, it isn't the kind of disease where you just lay in a hospital bed and get treatment. It's rehab. Just like physical rehab, it's requires hard work and motivation from YOU to be successful. Showing up to rehab doesn't cure you of addiction - we have to help each other to get the results you want.
There is another thing you should know: addiction is a chronic disease. That means it never goes away completely. Addiction has similar relapse rates to diseases like diabetes and asthma. It isn't something where you just get treatment and you're cured.
What our treatment at Evergreen Recovery does is it gets you past the hard part - kicking the habit in the first place - and then makes you stronger. Stronger against temptation and better able to avoid the situations which compel you to use. But when you leave the facility for good, it's still up to you to stay strong. This is why many people turn to support groups to help them continue to stay clean after their rehab treatment is complete.

If rehab sounds hard, that's because it is hard. But there is one more thing you should know: beating addiction feels great. Sure, it's hard, and it's tough to stay clean. But the weight you feel lifted from you is immense when you re-start your life free from the chains of addiction.
The pain and suffering you may face when trying to beat addiction is nothing compared to what you go through while succumbing to it.
The thought of long term drug or alcohol rehab probably doesn't excite you very much. You're giving up a lot of your time, several days a week, and a lot of people feel nervous when they think about getting addiction treatment for a long period of time.
However, it's very often the best option. Bad habits aren't broken in a day or two. A lot of people who come in for treatment have been heavy drinkers or using drugs for years. In those cases, using drugs or alcohol isn't just a habit - it's part of a regular routine. It's a part of your life. Learning how to remove those things from your life and replace them with less harmful things takes time, and patience.
We honestly believe Evergreen Recovery is the absolute best rehab facility in the state of Washington. We work hard every day to make sure that is the case. Our drug rehab program is both affordable and effective. It is designed to get to the root of your addiction so that you move forward with your life, unchained.
That said, this is your journey, and your decision. We want you to have all the information you could possibly need before deciding where to take that first step. People don't come to Evergreen because they're forced, they come because they're committed to beating their addiction.
